III quarter 2018 results

Passenger traffic at Zhukovsky International Airport in September was 133,472 people - 210% more than the result for the same period in 2017. The peak of the tourist season in Crimea was over, but Simferopol, like a month ago, retained the position of the most demanded flight direction among passengers. The second most popular place is the busiest route in the annual average - Minsk-Zhukovsky-Minsk.

“For the first nine months of 2018, Zhukovsky served 872,000 passengers, two times more than in the whole of 2017. Thus, by the end of the summer navigation period, we are entering the home stretch before one of the main events of the year: a mark of one million passengers will be recorded in late October - early November. The subtotal may look quite modest, but we must remember that the airport took the first flight only two years ago - in September 2016, so Zhukovsky demonstrates not only quantitative, but also qualitative growth of indicators. At the same time, our main advantages remain: well-thought-out internal logistics and high speed passenger service” – commented Thomas Vaishvila, CEO of RAMPORT AERO.

Zhukovsky continues to actively work on expanding the geography of flights and attracting new airlines. On September 20, the airport began to cooperate with the Tajik national carrier Somon Air: the airline operates flights to Dushanbe and Kulyab. Since September 24, flights to Kulyab have also been opened by the largest aviation partner of the airport – Ural Airlines. This airline demonstrates an active interest in increasing frequencies and opening new flight directions and continues to develop routes from Zhukovsky: from December 24, Zhukovsky-Almaty-Zhukovsky flights begin, and flights to Uzbekistan and Western Europe are approaching.

The increase in passenger traffic yields results: the retention of current indicators will allow Zhukovsky in the near future to achieve operational break-even.
