Zhukovsky International Airport is opened

It took only 13 months for the RAMPORT AERO, OJSC, to design and build the airport with a total area of 17,600 square meters, and the airport capacity of 2 million passengers per year.

On May 30, a grand opening of the Zhukovsky International Airport took place attended by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maksim Sokolov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Aleksandr Neradko, etc.

Dmitry Medvedev visited the main airport areas and got acquainted with the presentation on transport accessibility.

“The airport opening is an important event not only for Moscow, but for the whole country as well,” – said the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

“This is a significant project for us, about ten thousand jobs will be created in this modern complex. The new airport may also provide keen and tough competition, as a result of which the prices for services will be falling,” – said the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov.

At the opening of the Zhukovsky International Airport, the RAMPORT AERO, OJSC entered into a joint-venture agreement with the Master International General Trading Company for the construction and management of the cargo terminal with an area of 14,000 square meters, and cooperation agreements on the airport and airdrome services with the Skat, Kazakhstan Airlines, the Air Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz Airlines, the Aviastar-TU and the Sky Gates Airline, both cargo airlines.

Up to date, the RAMPORT AERO, OJSC obtained all necessary approval documentation (certificates) for operation of the Zhukovsky International Airport. The Border Inspection Post of the Russian Federation has been opened. The terminal and the related infrastructure are fully ready for flights.
